What is Emotional Intelligence?

Emotional Intelligence is the ability in us to control our emotions and understand and express feelings in a way that is positive to both ourselves and those around us.

The Roots of Emotional Intelligence

In the 1990s, Peter Salovey and John D. Mayer introduced the theory of emotional intelligence, which was later developed and made available to the general public by Daniel Goleman. The concept of emotional quotient (EQ) has gained widespread acceptance.

  • Feel energized, not angry
